Early Detection of Lymphoma by IDEXX Cancer Dx Testing in 7 Cases
IDEXX Cancer Dx testing was retrospectively performed on over 11,000 whole blood and serum samples, revealing biomarker changes in a total of 88 cases. Of these, 17 dogs showed biomarker detection during routine wellness visits, and 7 of these 17 dogs were later diagnosed with lymphoma, highlighting its potential for early detection, in support of our ongoing prospective longitudinal study.
Pilot evaluation of a liquid biopsy test for longitudinal monitoring of disease status in dogs undergoing treatment for multicentric lymphoma.
This peer-reviewed publication reports findings from a pilot study evaluating IDEXX Cancer Dx testing as a monitoring tool in 10 treatment-naïve dogs with lymphoma undergoing chemotherapy treatment. IDEXX Cancer Dx results showed strong concordance with clinical remission status, supporting its potential utility for remission monitoring and the need for validation in larger studies.
Initial Diagnostic Outcomes in Cancer Dx-Positive Patients Identified Through a Large-Scale Cancer Screening Study
Retrospective data indicate IDEXX Cancer Dx testing in healthy appearing dogs can precede clinical diagnosis by more than 3 months. This case series reports initial diagnostic investigation of dogs presenting for wellness visits with IDEXX Cancer Dx testing results consistent with lymphoma during a prospective screening study, the IDEXX SEARCHER study.
Use of IDEXX Cancer Dx testing to screen for lymphoma in at-risk dogs: interim results
The IDEXX SEARCHER Study is a large prospective screening study evaluating the use of IDEXX Cancer Dx. Interim results from nearly 3,000 enrolled dogs suggest that Cancer Dx can identify lymphoma before clinical signs develop. Outcomes at 3 months in this cohort also indicate a low short-term false-negative rate. These findings highlight the potential value of incorporating cancer screening into routine wellness visits to support earlier detection, diagnosis, and management of lymphoma in at-risk dogs.
Advancing the Future of Cancer Care for Pets
IDEXX is committed to helping veterinarians integrate cancer screening into routine wellness care. That’s why we’re conducting an ongoing clinical study designed to further understand how our diagnostic technology performs in real cases across general practices and to support appropriate use and actionable guidance.
The study is focused on:
- Screening 5,000 dogs presenting for wellness examinations for lymphoma with IDEXX Cancer Dx testing.
- Performing diagnostic workups in those patients with a “consistent with lymphoma" result.
- Performing 3- and 6-month follow-up surveys in patients with “consistent with lymphoma” results and a large portion of patients with “not consistent with lymphoma" results.
The study is actively enrolling and collecting data. Over 3,500 patients have been enrolled across more than 60 clinics. We look forward to sharing findings as they become available.
